Eating disorder recovery is a challenging journey that requires dedication and support. At Lumus Counseling, I understand the complexities of this process, and I am here to help you every step of the way.
Through individual therapy sessions, I work with clients to address the underlying issues contributing to their disordered eating behaviors. If appropriate, family and couple sessions are also utilized. I work from a systemic lens that includes a team of support.
I offer clients a safe and non-judgmental space to explore their relationships with food, body image, and self-worth. I approach healing with a health-at-every-size lens.
Healing Journey

Healing traumatic experiences is a journey that requires patience, self-compassion, and professional guidance. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating the challenges of trauma sensitivities and emotional flashbacks. Trauma experiences are unique, and I am dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for healing.
Through a combination of evidence-based therapies, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), AF-EMDR, and neuropsychology, I help clients process their past experiences, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and build resilience.
What is trauma?
Trauma is an emotional response to distressing or disturbing events that overwhelms an individual's ability to cope. It can result from experiences such as accidents, natural disasters, physical and emotional abuse, or violent experiences. Trauma can hold us in a state of constant vigilance.
Trauma can have a lasting impact on a person's mental and emotional well-being, leading to symptoms like anxiety, depression, flashbacks, attention-defecit and difficulty trusting others. Seeking help is essential in processing and healing from traumatic experiences.
Depression & anxiety care
My professional training provides me with insight into the root causes of depression and anxiety. Depression and anxiety are symptoms of experiences. I focus on healing with empathy and validation and challenging the thoughts that fester in our minds.
Challenges in this world are certain, and they may leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or depressed. These difficult experiences can lead to isolation, stuckness, panic, and other uncomfortable feelings. Rather than battle it out in your relationships or on your own, I work from a headspace of inspiring hope and seeking peace.
